To stop the invasion, a prophecy sends Annabeth, Percy, his cyclops brother , and his satyr best friend Grover on a quest to find Daedalus at the center of the Labyrinth. Their journey is filled with mythological monsters and gods, including the sorceress Circe and the god of the wild, Pan. Throughout the quest, they meet Nico di Angelo , the young son of Hades, and the mortal Rachel, who possesses the strange ability to see through the Labyrinth's magical mist. The central dilemma of the story is that Daedalus possesses the string that controls the Labyrinth; whoever he gives it to will have dominion over the maze, leading to a desperate race between the heroes and Luke's forces.
These issues are minor, however, and do not detract from the overall enjoyment of the graphic novel.
